What is the difference between bridge size and poker size playing cards?

Playing cards are 3.5" in height. Poker (Wide) size cards are 2.5" (62mm) wide and Bridge size cards are 2.25" (57mm) wide. Most casinos and poker rooms use bridge size (yes, bridge) cards because they are easier to handle and shuffle than the larger poker size cards.

Please note that the above answer is slightly incorrect. Poker size cards are wider compared to bridge size

Also please consider using plastic cards. They are much much longer lasting and can even be washed if they get dirty.

What is the difference between bridge size and poker size playing cards?
The most common sizes for playing cards are...

Poker size (2½in × 3½in, approx. 63mm × 88mm)

Bridge size (2¼in × 3½in, approx. 56mm × 87mm).

So basically Bridge size is 1/4 inch wider.
