I work at a camp for childen with cancer and last year our card were ruined due to rain. several hundred decks, I would like to replace them but our finances need to be more care based at this time. Does any one know where I might come up with some Playing cards. (used woud be just great.)
Where can I get free playing cards. (poker/gin/rummy)?
whether or not the casino gives out free cards or if they sell them depends on the particular casino. your local casino should have a number that you can call in the phone book and they should be able to let you know what they do in your area. if they sell them, than writing to the card companies is a good idea. you can also try contacting some of the local mens/womens orginizations as they will often have an excess amount of playing cards.
Reply:Casinos do not give out free decks of cards, they do sell the used ones. I would write to the playing card manufacturers, bicylce, etc... tell them what you do and I am willing to bet that they will sell you some, or tell them that you are willing to buy their seconds. Maybe the print was off, or fuzzy, your kids won't care if the ink is funky. Good luck. I would also ask my local boy-scouts or girl scouts to collect some for you. If a boyscout came to my door and told me why he wanted them I would donate them. In fact if you live in the US I want to send you a cash donation for replace the cards, or I can send you some decks of cards, the cash would be easier. I don't have too much money but I will send what I can. Good Luck. Email me an address.
Reply:All casinos give out the free decks of cards. They have to use new decks every couple of hours, so they give away the lightly used decks for free.
Spirit Mountain Casino in McMinnville, Oregon gives out piles of free decks a night. I have at least half a dozen around my house.
Reply:you could probably get one of the major playing card companies to send you a bunch of them if you write them a letter explaining what happened.
Sorry that had to happen :(. Good luck!
